Bonge (Andrew Bongiorno) is killin' it in L.A. on both stage and screen.

One of the great supporters of A Fistful of Scripts and Callumny Films, Bonge is currently starring as song and dance man Peter Allen in 'The Boy From Oz'.  It's a smart career move. With his US career rapidly gaining traction, we see no reason why Bonge can't emulate another charismatic Aussie singer/dancer/actor - Hugh Jackman.

Andrew Bongiorno recently confirmed his casting in 'A Kind of Destiny', accepting the role of JUDAS which he originated in July 2010.

Sean McIntyre
's screenplay is a clever depiction of Jesus and Judas - just as their bro-mance disintegrates. The story is a character study in the themes of destiny and free will.

A Hollywood-based ex-pat, Callumny Films will fly Andrew to his home town of Melbourne, Australia for filming on location at RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia. Keir Saltmarsh confirmed his role as JESUS, while Simon Todman will reprise his as the ROMAN SOLDIER.

Onya Bonge - keep those L.A. encores comin' and leave 'em screamin' for more.

Interview | L.A. director MICHAEL SHEPPERD, The Boy from Oz

What made Andrew Bongiorno standout as the lead for this production?

Andrew wasn’t able to originally come to the auditions, he sent in a taped audition. We saw maybe fifteen people for the role of Peter Allen. But there was a charm and vulnerability in Andrew that was attractive, and like Peter Allen he’s so completely charismatic.

When you watch interviews with him or see him perform there’s a charisma, a spirited energy about him, and I felt that Andrew had that. When he got back in town, the producer and I met with him, we sang him and read a scene, then we said, ‘We’ll be back in touch with you, just kidding we’ll offer you the role.’ I’m glad he showed up, there’s a real loving beauty about Andrew Bongiorno . . . and he’s Australian.
