SCRIPT | To Be Or Not USB

The adaption of 'How To Kill Your Favourite Character' into a film screenplay has hit a hurdle - the USB the file is saved on has been lost.

It wouldn't really matter if it was a straightforward adaption.

But in writing the first 30 pages, I brainstormed a couple of new scenes and added some new characters.

It's no trouble remembering the scenes...but some of the dialogue was new.

I wonder how hard it is to conjure lightning and inspiration striking a second time?

While not traumatised by the loss of the USB, it does have a lot of irreplaceable info on it including a large database of all my creative contacts that are neatly sorted.

With the last back-up completed August 2011, I guess it's just something to chalk up to experience.

For the record i can't remember where I last had it but the most likely spot is the State Library of Victoria or a net cafe in Flinders Street. Neither location has reported it handed in. Stay tuned I guess...

UPDATE

While forlornly reviewing the C Drive, i came across the patron saint of writers: Saint Timed Backup File. He always has your back.

My plan for the next half-hour is to greedily indulge myself by reading the script written thus far and tell myself over and over again how good this script is...
