Sean McIntyre is creative producer of 'A Fistful of Scripts', an ongoing script reading series which I created and launched at Theatre Works, St Kilda in July 2010.
'A Fistful of Scripts' is 100% not-for-profit event. With generous support from Theatre Works he has been able to produce and present a professionally run event on a regular basis at one of Melbourne's most recognisable and respected theatre venues: Theatre Works, St Kilda.

This assistance will greatly help me to not only keep 'A Fistful of Scripts' as a 100% not-for-profit event, but also to ensure that entry for the public remains free.

REWARDS
'A Fistful of Scripts' offers the general public and arts industry practioners a vast array of rewards and benefits.
PUBLIC
The driving philosophy and rationale behind 'A Fistful of Scripts' is to take the work out to the audience. The process is about getting vital script feedback while having an audience that hears the words and
sees the action. Following each script the public will be encouraged to join an open Q & A forum, led by MC Jeremy Kewley.
For everyone else its a window into the creative process - it's like being witness to people giving collective birth to a collaborative piece of work. 'A Fistful of Scripts' brings life to words off the page for both theatre and screen by some of Melbourne's most talented and driven artists. Open to the general public, admission is free.
ACTORS, WRITERS
WRITERS write so ACTORS can act. ACTORS act so DIRECTORS can direct. The end result is to find an audience that HEARS words and SEES action.
Script readings give actors a stage, writers direct feedback and directors a chance to exercise creative muscle. Other benefits include:
- Performance skill development
- Participation in Q & A panel offers rare opportunity to discuss character development and receivedirect feedback from audience
Networking opportunities and exposure of their skills to Theatre Works management and their peers.
OTHER
'A Fistful of Scripts' has enjoyed performances from an informal ensemble numbering some 30 actors, 8 plays, 3 screenplays from a total of 6 different writers.

EVIDENCE
Lounge Theatre will have its world premiere at The Butterfly Club in July 2012. It is hard core
proof of the ability of' 'A Fistful of Scripts' to act as an incubator and laboratory for the successful development of scripts into working, professional productions.
Only 'A Fistful of Scripts' can offer, provide and demonstrate these kinds of opportunities, activities and production outcomes.
SUPPORT REQUESTED
Theatre Works now considers 'A Fistful of Scripts' a critical contributor to its rich and diverse program offering.
I have committed to producing three further seasons of 'A Fistful of Scripts' in 2012. Your support will help greatly with pre-production for the presentation of 2 new scripts from Jimmy Flinders Productions: Lounge Theatre.
I am now also in discussions to secure a presentation of the first ever feature film script at 'A Fistful of Scripts'.
This script will be the second feature from the producers of 'The Three Ages of Sasha', a film made in Melbourne due for release August 2012 from Rok Starr Productions featuring sensational new talent Mahesh Jadu.
