On the way from the local train station to meet them, I helped out a young mum with a pram who was slightly lost. We were going the same way -- sort of. I had a map, so it made sense to walk together.
She asked me what I was doing in the area with a map and I said I was
“going to meet a guy”. That sounded kinda dodgy, so I added “he’s a film director and it’s about a part in his next film”.“Oh!”, she burst out, “are you an actor? What’s your name?”
“Sean”, I said thinking she meant to introduce herself.
“Sean who? What have I seen you in?”
I tried to assure her I was a nobody, but she seemed pretty pleased to spend a little part of her day with an actor. Doesn’t happen every day apparently. To me either!
So I met the director and the actress who will be playing my ‘wife’. I apologised to her pretty much straight away ....to learn why ...you'll just have to join me on the red carpet.
