Sean McIntyre | writer / director / producer / actor / media

IMDB BIO - officially unauthorised

With consecutive international appearances at the prestigious Cannes International Film Festival (out of competition screening, France) and genre-driven Comic-Con 2016 (global premiere, USA), Sean McIntyre scores a rare and exclusive double achievement.

A key role in ‘The Legend of Ben Hall’ as ‘McCauley’ (executive producer, Greg McLean (‘Wolf Creek’)) and lead role in ‘Sheborg Massacre’ (a flame-throwing ‘Mayor Jack Whiteman’) ranks Sean McIntyre as the only Australian in 2016 – and possibly first ever – to do so to do so at such iconic film events..

Although vastly different, yet uniquely commercial, each feature film has already succeeded at attracting interest from industry heavy-weights while building anticipation among global audiences, sales agents, distributors and target markets.

A writer, screenwriter, playwright and producer, Sean McIntyre’s acting credits span across diverse genres in more than 50 short and feature films, many screening at highly esteemed international film festivals.

These include dual winner, Best Short Film, for two consecutive years at MUFF (‘The Side Entrance’ (2013), ‘The Mane Man’ (2014)). 'Monster Pies' became the only Australian film ever to win Best Feature film at Melbourne Queer film festival in its 23 years.

Sean McIntyre is now filming 'Tarnation' (as ‘The Boss’) with writer/director/producer Daniel Armstrong (‘Sheborg Massacre’, Strongman Pictures). Sean appeared in Working Dog’s 'Any Questions For Ben?', 'The Three Ages of Sasha' and ‘Time Apart'. Screenplay/producer credits include the clever mockumentary ‘Sacrifice’ (’Shawn – digital consultant’) and TV series pilot ‘The Contract’ (DOP, Damien Beebe) - the pitch project is based on Sean’s screenplay.

Sean’s playwright/producer highlights: 'The Pickup', top 30 finalist from 1,100 plays - Short and Sweet, world’s largest short play festival (Melbourne (2005), Sydney (2006), Dublin (2007)); 'A Kind of Destiny’, finalist (Andrew Bongiorno as JUDAS) - Crash Test Drama (March, 2012); and ‘Lounge Theatre’ - 2012 Melbourne International Fringe Festival (The Butterfly Club), awarded 3 star review by The Age (Aust).

Selected for Melbourne Theatre Company's prestigious 2015 NEON Festival, his new work 'KIDS' performed to a sell-out audience. Inspired by 'Juegos A La Hora De La Siesta', by Polish-born Argentinean playwright Roma Mahieu (a critical, subversive and highly political commentary on the Argentinean dictatorship).

A past creative writing student of Oxford University (UK), Sean is Creative Producer of ‘A Fistful of Scripts’ (which he founded in 2010) and co-founder of Jimmy Flinders Productions (2012).
